What is the TORX size?

Post by crewzzn88 »

Hello,

I got my engine SW Motech engine guards yesterday from Twisted Throttle. Can somebody please tell me the size of the large torx nut at the bottom of the motor. I already know it's NOT a T50. I hate to run down to Sears and buy the wrong one. Thank You!

Sears has a reputation to make the customer happy. They will gladly exchange a part. Ride your bike to Sears. Buy the one you think will fit. Go outside and fit it. If it does not fit, go back inside and exchange it for another size.

I put SWM bars on about a month ago. From memory, it's a T55. I think the T55 is the largest Torx on the bike so it won't hurt to have one in your kit either way.

It is a T55. My local Sears store did not have it, but the local auto parts store did.

That hasn't been true since the merger with K-Mart. I had a complaint about a year ago about something that, I thought, wore out too quickly, and they refused to make an adjustment. I asked the manager, "Whatever happened to 'Satisafction guaranteed or your money back'?" He replied, "Oh, we don't do that anymore." :(
