does your bike have a name?

Post by hortbum »

My wife thinks that I am crazy for giving my bike a name. If we name our childrem why not your bike? I bought my blue 2010 r12r 30 days ago and when i got it home I drank a couple beers and thought about a name. I sat and looked at it and thought that it looked pretty tough like a bull. So I named it "el toro grande" the big bull. i love my bull.

I agree for the bull association...already had similar thoughts.
very terrestrial design Taurus, Bull, pit-bull etc etc

Definitely "beasty"
I like to refer about her as my beast often as possible.

but I am still thinking about an appropriate license plate personalization.

Mine is named Behula in honour of my second cousin Behula Beesing who rode a HD Sporty until her mid 80's. I ran into her at a family funeral and asked if she was still riding, her response was a very dissapointing but humerous "F NO damnit" seems the previous summer she dropped it a at a stop light and had to ask "some pimple faced young punk" to help her get it righted so she could get home. She was not so much afraid of riding as she was embarassed of asking for help. Seems independence runs deep in my family

I'm not partial to naming, but my father wants me to. His suggestions: Brunhilde or Valkyrie for my Norse viking heritage and the strength and awesomeness of the bike.

Edited: =D> Love the story behind Behula! Have her get a trike or CanAm. She sounds like she needs to ride.

Hmmmm... my son used to provide me with bike names, but he's across the country now. I've always called it the "Roadster".. so I guess that's it's name.

I always name my bikes according to the name's day list. Usually on the day when I pick up my bike I ccheck the list and for my latest bike it was "Herta"...

My Harley friends picked on my bike saying it's ugly (The picking back and forth has been going on between us for decades - it's part of the deal), I agreed and said it's just a machine built to perform a function and it does that very well. Hence the name "Mr Machine" on the front suspension.

I guess given this approach, should name the bike Romona or just 'mona for short.

I refer to it as 'the BMW'. Giving names to things has never been my strength or passion.
