Posting pics

Post by dmk »

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place for this post, just now sure where to put it. I'm using flickr and grabbing the link and pasting inbetween the Img brackets - my link looks like this:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/54570543@N08/5051157725/

But when I go to preview or post, this is the message in red above my post:

"It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image."

And then it does not post my picture. Can someone please help me with the settings for this?

thanks in advance.

Your url seems to lead to a folder (5051157725) rather than a photo (which will end in a .jpg or some other image format extension), though it works if you click the link. It doesn't work when I try using the url with img tags (to make it show up inline in a post). I got the same results as you did ("It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.").

Your original URL:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/54570543@N08/5051157725/

direct URL for the picture:, this works with img tags:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4124/505 ... c806_z.jpg

The url in img tags:
Image

Went to your original url. Using Firefox, I right clicked the image. This brought up a menu that lets me choose what size of photo I want, I selected a size and image was displayed. Then right click on the image, and choose "copy image location". Then use that as the url for the img tags. Flickr doesn't seem to provide an easy way to get the url for an image you want to post in a forum, like some other photo sharing sites do. I use Photobucket and they make it really easy to get the image url.
