Weak battery?

Weak battery?
I have had my bike plugged into a trickle charger for the last 6 weeks. Went on a charity run today and after stopping for 10 minutes the bike wouldn't start and the battery went dead after two attempts at starting. Managed to get going after a good samaritan lent me his battery booster pack and I made my way straight home. Let the bike stand for 15 minutes and it started no problem. Going to leave overnight unplugged from the charger to see how it is in the morning. Could the charger be faulty and not doing its job? Its an Accumate charger and all indicators suggest the battery is fine.

Re: Weak battery?
Sounds like the battery is gone. If it won't hold a charge you need a new one. You may have loose battery connections also. Instead of a trickle charger, use a regular battery charger to give it a good charge and see what happens.

Most people don't do what's right, they do what's most convenient and then repent

Thanks for the advice guys.
Re: Weak battery?
Got the battery tested and yes its on its way out. Priced the Odyssey one and hope to get it after Christmas. What a bugger to get the battery out but thanks to a search on here followed the procedure for removing the tank.
And took the opportunity to change the air filter while I was at it.

Ahh, it's battery replacement season again.
+1 on the Odyssey.
I got the PC680 and it's been a workhorse. I've never used a trickle charger. I have a couple, but never needed to use one...and when I do, I'll consider my battery shot and get a new one. I ride daily, except in "bad" weather. At the most, I ride at least weekly. On my third year with the Odyssey, but I'm expecting to need a new one soon.
That's just the nature of batteries. YMMV.

+1 for Odyssey PC680
I had one in my bike since 2005. Finally it begun to show the age.
Yesterday, after a good ride home, it just quit on me right by the gate. I used regular charger, tender, all for nothing.
Could not revive that old RED b......h
6 years of the use and abuse out of this battery, not bad. So, I am getting a new Odyssey PC680-P.
Amazon has it for $124.00 and some others are asking $134.00
I did a little search and found one for 99.95 bucks plus $15.00 for shipping.
Here is the link if anybody is looking for one... https://www.shopthedude.com/prd.cl/ODYPC680-P
P.S. I was looking for "P" definition... It stands for the "Power Sports"
Good Luck.

It's dimensions are a little smaller but seems it would fit.
Might need a piece or two of rubber to wedge it soundly in place.

Re: Weak battery?
It comes with spacers just for that purpose. And it has better specs specifically CCA: 270 vs 220 for the PC680.
Read the FAQs on it. Sounds impressive. I have the pc680 now and it has been fine for 3+ years, but I am starting to get a hint that it may be going out and a 50 premium for what it offers seems maybe worth it.
But I am no expert.
