Bike won't run.
I have a 2004 r1150r and I just changed the fuel filter today. After I reassembled the bike I tried to start it and I can not get it to run. It will fire occasionally, but it will only run for few seconds and at below idle rpm then it dies. I removed the injectors and cleaned them but it still won't run. Any ideas?
Re: Bike won't run.
Fuel line fell off of either the pump or filter, have heard of it happening to others when they changed the filter. Something about the connection having to be done right. How did you attached the fuel line to the filter? You need to use clamps rated for fuel injection systems (i.e., high pressure), otherwise they just blow off when the system is pressurized.
Re: Bike won't run.
I used quality clamps when I put it back together. I pulled the injectors off and cleaned them and I verified that they are both getting fuel. I am trying to eliminate every possibility before removing the tank again.

I can get the bike to run for about 10 seconds, then it dies. Any ideas?
Re: Bike won't run.
Your throttle cable isn't fully seated on the right hand side. It only LOOKS like it's seated. Causes a no-run like you describe. Great prank too.
Re: Bike won't run.
In the time it took me to post that, you went from online to not. Hope you went to get a beer and aren't off pulling the fuel filter out of the tank. If you look at the "GIT-R-DONE" post, the cable I'm talking about it is hidden behind the electrical connector on the fuel injector. The outside sheath gets pulled out of it's ferrule while you're in there fooling with the quick connects and vent lines. I won't admit how much time and how much I tore apart looking for that stupid issue. Fixed in 5 seconds, no tools - thanks to CycleRob's suggestion to look at it. Biggest head-slapper ever. The TPS is on the left side and sees a closed throttle. Right side throttle is open, but not getting enough gas to run. Runs like crap for a few seconds and dies.
Re: Bike won't run.
Fuel line in the tank was cut. Very difficult to see lucky I found it just before putting the whole thing back in the tank for a second time. Bike runs great!!
