replaced fuel quick disconnects now only runs one cylinder

Post by theshowmecanuck »

Hello,
2004 R1150R. So I replaced the male ends of both quick disconnects after one broke off. Initially pulled the female end from the broken line but after pushing the broken off end out of it reused it. Or in other words, I reused both female ends. The body was fine and the male end seems to seat fine. Was rough to restart, and now is only running on one cylinder. I am in a condo, so can't rip too much apart due to building rules (but I will try to stretch them as much as I can... just don't like playing too much with fuel in an underground garage if you know what I mean). And it's below freezing today, so outside is not really an option. Regardless, can someone shoot me some trouble shooting advice? I will also post a picture once I get back to the garage later today. TIA.

I did check the throttle seating, and the cable moves and all, and the throttle wheel looks to be rotating (could this still be a problem?). The cylinder isn't firing at all, the exhaust pipe at the head is way too cool. i.e. I could spit on it and it would not immediately vapourize (crude but quick test). On the other side (the left side is firing) it got a definite positive for heat.

FYI, I accidentally posted this on the R1200R earlier this morning from my mobile (I guess it was too small for me to see properly :) ). I have noted that I have moved the post over here.

Thanks in advance,)

And after all that... it was that the throttle cable wasn't seated properly. Turns out that even if the throttle wheel rotates, if it doesn't get all the way to the bottom, it won't operate properly. i.e. the cylinder won't fire. nu.

Sooooo.... never mind.
