Headlight lens

Post by rokinrider »

After a spirited 200 mile ride yesterday I was cleaning the bug stuff off, noticed the lens is cracked dead center. I do remember hearing an impact from a rock but no sign of impact from one, just cracked?? I read other post's and It seems to be an issue. My local dealer gives me the cold shoulder because I bought mine in ST Louis, but I might see if they will warranty it?? I prefer to improve and go after market, Cee Baileys apperars to be a cover for the regular lens. Any other good replacement lenses out there. Thanks....

There was a silent warranty on the early ('07) lenses if they cracked (mine did, but I replaced it with my money before I found out about the silent warranty..) I believe the later models aren't supposed to have this issue.

The CB cover would be your best bet. There are no aftermarket headlight assemblies for the R12R.

Do I replace it first, or just cover it for now. Money is tight buying new house :doubt:

I put a piece of clear packing tape over my cracked lens, rode it like that for a long time before finally feeling like replacing it for the second time in the life of my bike.

I fitted a customized headlight protector to my bike 45000km ago. Despite a fair amount of battle damage on the forward flanks, the headlight remains unmarked. Currently priced at about $50AUS.
