Bad news, good news

Bad news is that the bracket for my Nippy Norman's rear hugger snapped at the weld, as I found last Sunday to my dismay. Of course, a small trip to the welder's could have solved that, but now the

Good news: I sent an e-mail query to Norman, he called me the next day, was very gracious, and a new bracket and mounting screws arrived on Saturday, just 6 days later. One week and my hugger is back in the game. Could you ask for better service, and from England at that?

Does one not normally expect good service from us Brits?

Must admit I've ordered loads of bits from Norman and he is indeed a cut above the rest in terms of customer service. Other outlets in the UK sell wunderlich kit but are sluggish in comparison.

We Brits ought to try running something like a sporting event and see if that turns out any good

No offense intended, Shakey! I was merely referring to the somewhat daunting distance between Blighty and SB. I believe it would have taken longer if it had come from New Jersey (now don't go jumping on me Don; I was referring to the USPS, not to the State ((and stay out of this, you postmen!)) ). You can't say a damn thing these days without offending someone, so screw all of you equally!

And more in the Good/Bad luck department: today I went on my monthly group ride from the shop, stopped at the Santa Paula Airport Café for breakfast, and, as I was the last to leave the parking lot, my battery crapped out. Bad luck! But I only had to push it a couple of hundred feet to a hangar, where a friendly air mechanic jumpered me back to life; that was Good luck, and I had a pleasant ride home through Ojai and over Casitas Pass.

The Bad luck is my battery has died, and the Good luck is that now I can treat myself to a brand-new battery.

Now, how many of you think I should replace it with an OEM, how many with an Odyssey, and how many would pop for a Shorei lithium?

And what sort of oil should I fill it with? Or should I use liquid-crystal fluid?

Call me old fashion but I like the Odyssey. BTW I put a MotoBatt in one of my MotoGiro bikes and was surprised to see it was made in China.
