Broken Mirror Glass

Hi All,

The glass in one of my rear view mirrors is broken (2001 R1150R). Is it possible to disassemble the mirror assembly and fit a new piece of glass?

Good question. I recently googled for info and pics about broken BMW mirrors without success. I have a mirror assembly with loose glass that I'd like to fix, or (better yet) replace with convex glass for improved function.

It appears that the glass is retained by the glued-in portion of the mirror structure. I've tried to pop this piece out of the larger mirror plastic body, but no go.
