handle bar swap

Post by jasondo »

So id like to swap the bars on my Rockster to roadster bars. The instructions in my Clymer manual are very vague about this procedure. Anyone ever post a walkthrough on this?

I have the roadster bars on my Rock. Just follow the manual on how to remove and dissemble the rockster bars and when you use the same procedure for reinstall just substitute the roadster bars. No mods needed..exactly the same.

Which manual are we talking about? The factory service manual?

Hey jasondo , by chance would you be willing to sell your rockster bars. I would like to swap my roadster bars to rockster with a little more of a forward position. Thanks

I have the factory manual on disc but over the years the Clymer manual is much more in detail and just plain better. I believe I changed mine the same month I bought the Rockster in '04 and gave the(flat) bars away.
I did it without any manual, its not hard just start taking it apart and its pretty easy. If you have heated grips then be careful to watch how they come apart but if your mechanical enough to try it then you should have little or no problem.
