I've been looking at buying myself one of these for years now.

The are not available in shops down under (I can order one)..I did see one a few years ago but I couldn't get it started.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about check here http://www.powerball-gyros.com/ or here http://www.powerballs.com/scoreboard.php

Check out this funny vid of the would record Powerballer http://www.powerballs.com/akis15552.wmv

So...anyone here seen them...have one...or know anything about them??

It's been a few years, but I remember a guy let me try one once. It feels alot like a combination of trying to keep a grenade from going off by holding it in your hands, and holding a helicopter rotor still. It did take some rythym to get them going. I see that they now have a rev string to help with that.

wow, now they have digital readouts? I was introduced to the original version back in 1995 or '96 and you just ran it over your thigh to get the gyro going. we recommended them in clinic for carpal tunnel or for those who simply wanted to strengthen the wrist flexors/extensors.

the old one had its faults, but by the looks of these new ones, I'd get one.

I know a couple of MX racers who swear by them.

Thanks guys for the input...DeanO..sorry to hear about your loss.. :D

I just got my new Powerball in the mail.

I thought I had strong forarms..with all my windsurfing/kitesurfing/mountain biking etc....but geees! after my first go that only lasted a few minutes my arms (wrist through to shoulder) was like jelly.

Good fun though... :smt023

I always dream of having the right Powerball numbers.
