Beautifull pictures. Riding around in your neck of the woods seems like a dream to me. I have to ride at least 500miles to see some scenery evan close to what you have in your back yard. I am really jealous.
I would be crapping my pants with a tire like that. You have nads of steel.
Thanks for sharing your fun with all of us that have to live vicariously due to geographical restrictions.
Thanks,
Tommy

Hungry Jacks logo looks like Burger King's logo. My guess is that Hungry Jack's is an subsidiary of Burger King.

Nice pics, DJ!

I bet you could get a couple more miles out of that tire.

That is exactly what happened to Dallara's rear .....tire that is, on our Big Bend, Texas ride. I prefer Pilot Roads, over Z6's any time.

DJ, your country is absolutely beautiful.

Thanks guys.......and yes I will be getting Perelli Diablo's again for sure...they grip real good and these lasted 20,000 kilometers...wow!.

Biff's R...I think you're right about the Burger King thing...we have them at our airports and it's the same thing.

I spent most of the time mixing it with the big boys with Blackbirds etc...and they're very good riders... :smt045
I think they were impressed with how well the RR went... \:D/
One guy said that I spayed him with sparks on a few corners... :D
Another said...gees you squeeze every bit out of that bike don't you..(I think that's a good thing)...

I thought I was doing well keeping up with the new BMW K1200S but later heard him say that he hadn't taken it over about 5-6,000 revs yet..
and we know they get up and boogie at about 7,000...oh well.

Boxerboy is a real eyeopener on his old R...
not only keeping up..but setting the pace for alot of the ride...that old beemer really goes...plus he's a very good rider.

There were so many times I would have loved to stop for a really spectacular pic but couldn't...
One day I'll do the ride alone and take them.

Nice pics DJ, i'm look forward to more of your riding adventures now that summer has arrived in your neck of the woods.

Question, Are you using Perelli Diablos or Diablo Stratas?
Suzuki T500- learned on
Vmax- hang on
Klr650- muddy on
Softail- laid on
R1150R- moved on

Thanks dilligaf....yes it'll be summer here soon...I feel sorry for you guys that can't ride all year round.

My tires are diablo's... http://www.pirellidiablo.com/en_96/diablo/master.jhtml

They have a new longer wearing tire called a strada...but I'll be staying with the diablo.

They claim to have a high silica content that helps grip when cold and last longer...it seems to work.

btw...that last 300 kilometers was some of the best..fastest..twisiest part of the whole ride...and I didn't back off one iota... :D
I rode it hard but tryed not to engine brake as much as I normally do.

Nice pics as usual DJ!

I know what you mean about missing some good photos. I find that when I'm with a group, I have to either shoot when I can or get dropped from the group.

Marko...next year you're welcome...you'll love it.

Yeah she came...even tho it was a secret mens business weekend.............just kidding..

The only problem was the room sharing bit...I could have either snoring and farting in one room...or...squeaky beds all night in the other... :D

I lucked out and got loud snoring in stereo all night...geees it was like dueling banjo's for a while...ain't ear plugs great... 8)

We had an excellent weekend, though it did start off wet and miserable. By the time our group had congregated and headed off the sun had come out and stayed out.
Eleven bikes, twelve participants in all.
Just about everytime we stopped for petrol I couldn't help myself..."wasn't that a great piece of road"!!!
We did in the order of 850 kilometers and close to 500 ks of that would've been twisty roads through mountain terrain or following a rivers meanderings.
We were also lucky enough to meet some club members of our university based club that we ran in the early 1980's...they were the guys with the Morini's, Darma and LeMans's. It was good catching up.

The only LEO we saw waved us thru a breath check station.

No dramas, no close calls, everyone home safe and planning the next one!

DJ is away this week...annual leave... and he's headed to Merimbula to do some wind surfing.
