A weekend along California's Hwy 1

Rich and I set out to join a group of riders
a couple hours away.
When we finally arrive, we need to use the facilities....

After joining up with the rest of the gang,
ten of us parade toward Boonville.
We were looking forward to a Boonville Oatmeal Stout with our lunch,
but the establishment was closed down.

It was a foggy morning before breakfast.

Wow, great pix and a great looking Triumph.

Pat, it sounds like you needed the corner marking system on this ride.....

The rider behind the leader stops at a turn and waits for all riders to pass by.
When he sees the last rider he pulls onto the road and joins the group.
This continues for as long as you like and no-one gets lost.
Can be a pain in the $%^# if you have bikes strung over a long way, but with a reasonable group,
only the lead rider needs to really know the route.......
and that can also be a problem........

Very nice pics Pat! Make me wanna go back up the coast. Just recently spent 7 weeks along the north coast on a business trip but unfortunately, not on my bike.

Pat, Again, Very Nice, The Triumph is looking Great!!!!, Is that a "sheep skin" on your saddle? I just put one on my "R" from Alaska-Leathers, The weather has turned here in MN so I won't have an opinion until spring. What is your take on the Sheepskin (if indeed, that is what I think I see)?

Yep, that's Larry's gang-o-Stanfordites.... good folk, all!

And YES, it's a Butt Pad from Alaska leathers. Bought it for the Roadster, it went on the Sprint RS, and now it's on the BonnieBlack. I love it, it's nothing short of magical!

I have a question that I need candid responses to:

I used a technique of posting pictures that would be a little bit of how DJ posts his ride stories, and the -links- that you have to open yourself.

How many of yous guys would prefer to open a thread without having to wait for all of the pictures to download first,

and how many yous guys (& gals) actually LIKE the pictures being displayed without having to open a link to them?

Great stuff Pat. Man I gotta get to Cali. 6 more years, 6 more years (got a kid in middle school)...


Depends on the size of the photos I guess and the time it takes to download them. I know anyone with a slow connection would probably want links.

I have a pretty fast connection (cable, downloads at 250 kilobytes per second,) and find that I avoid some posts because I have to leave the room for a while as the pix download. otherwise I get motion sickness with all the jumping around of the display. If the pix fit on one or two screens, no problem, but I'm sure that the modem users would prefer links. (If there are any of them left.) :D

I prefer all the pics in the post...No links... Better flow that way... However, a modem user might feel otherwise...

Some things never change.... Pat my old friend I have missed your amazing posts and pictures. I got a email today from Doug with the new rules for posting and thought I would come over and see what has been going on. Glad to see your still showing everyone what riding is all about. I vote for no links. That ride with the Standfordites is BIG fun.

He's yet to deploy it.......

only gotten his K1200R up to a mere (and very quick) 140 mph.
