R1100S

Is there any way to make the riding position on these bikes more upright?
The deals on the 04 models look good, but it won't work if I can't sit on it.

My main concern is not having my knees cramped. I'm tall and didn't know if lowering the pegs would help. I've been looking for an R1150R, but would still need to lower the pegs.

There is a lot of bits for these bike to make them more touring. Peg lowering, bar raising and higher screens. I used to have one but instead of trying to turn it into something it was not I swaped it for a GS which felt like a comfy sofa in comparison. If there are deals on bikes then there is normally a reason. That said they are good bikes and you will find a lot of fans over on http://forums.pelicanparts.com/

Go to the Pelican site, look up a regular whose handle is Rapid Dog. I ordered his risers, they are works of art. Incidently, I am 68 and have not installed the risers, love the S riding position. To each his own.

On another note, I've been buying Helmets, boots, etc. from Near Enough Motorcycle Leather and each time I make a purchase they contribute $1 to this board. Can't beat that.

Merry Christmas to all.
