I have the BMW Sport windshield on my R1150R and would like to change to the Touring windshield. Looking at catalogs, I find that both windshields use the same mounting kit. However, I find that you can purchase the mounting kit separately, but there is no listing for just the windshield (without the mounting kit).
I have talked to my local dealer, Bob’s BMW, and Santa Cruz BMW. . . all are looking but no one has found a part number for the shield only.
Any help out there?

I have the BMW Touring Screen, which suits me OK, but I also have a CEE Bailey sport screen and I'm very happy with it. Good quality, no problems, and it fits the BMW mounts just fine. I believe that their standard touring screen is the same height and slightly wider than the BMW screen. They offer several choices - slightly higher, shorter, domed top, euro top, tints.

Well I do appreciate the information, however . . .
The Max BMW parts fiche only lists two windshield, neither of which is the Touring (or the sport, for that matter) and take completely different mounts. The local dealer had this and couldn’t find anything either. His “paper†parts catalog listed the Touring with mount and the mounts separately. (Which is where I started from.)
I did get an email from Santa Cruz BMW who insists that the part number (99 99 0 000 458) that I have for the touring windshield kit is only for the bare shield and the mounting kit has to be purchased separately. They quoted me the same price as for the full set. Just a little whining here, but I think they want to sell me the kit and just send me the windshield, as I have found the thing in three catalogs, one of which even said in the description of the mounting kit that you would not need this kit if you purchased the windshield kit.
Duh!
As for the Cee Bailey suggestion, I have one for my FZ1 Yamaha and it creates more noise at 30 mph than most do at 100. I used it one time and shelved it.

I just bought and installed the sport screen from AEROFlow. I love it.
Very quiet and no turbulent air behind the screen.
Uses it's own mounting bracket and was very easy to install.

I'm 5'6" and I look over the screen by two inches and have no wind hitting my helmet. The touring screen would have been too tall for me.
I also checked out the CeeBaily screen but I prefer the AeroFlow because the plastic they use is not brittle. I have found the CeeBailey plastic to be brittle.
Just my opinion though.

On buying the shield with or without the mounts, don't sweat it. I bet there are people on the board looking for the mounts, and you could probably work some kinda deal.
Monerai, why don't you send it back to them? I have heard that they will work with you if something is not right. It would be worth the try.
