New concept vehicle

Post by wncbmw »

I found this article on a new 3-wheeled vehicle that runs on compressed gas. A British car but apparently a EU joint venture of some sort. It claims 100 mpg on a vehicle that combines a bit of a motorcycle and a bit of a car. Looks like it would be a hoot to drive! Still 10 years out from production however.

One of the pictures looks like it has Ohlin shocks! :P

Cool idea, but......

I think having a three wheeled vehicle with one wheel in the front would be unsafe due to the loss of stability in certain situations. Picture hard braking while trying to avoid a collision - the thing would tip over. Two wheels in front for me!

Just the one I was trying to think of. The Carver is a near production vehicle , not 10 years away. I don't see why they think it's revolutionary to use dual fuel. Farmers have been using LP/gasoline setups for years. Maybe the trick is to make it compact. The tank is usually big.
Now, I think a three wheeler would be cool. Drive in the car pool lanes. Park in pretty small spots, and be weather proof. Maybe it even has a heater, eh ?

I saw a TopGear episode that had the Carver in it. Very neat! But I think its like $40K+ ??!?! Maybe if it was 10-15K people would actually buy it, but over $40K and thats really a niche market.

I was a little excited about the VW one becuase I think it was in the $15K range.

The newer one wheel forward designs have wheel tilt built in.
The whole chassis torques to maintain equilibrium.
