Information on BB1 Bar Backs sold through A&S

I've got a 2004 R1150R and I'm looking for barbacks. I love the Verholen ones, but I'm trying to be a little frugal so my wife is happy. Has anyone tried the A&S BB1 barbacks. Did you need to use the longer brake line from the GS or did it work without it. The A&S site stated you "may" need the longer line. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
