Charlotte NC rentals?

Poking around the web for an hour, I cannot find any moped rentals in the Charlotte area except HD. Are here any alternatives anyone is aware of? It would be greatly appreciated - TIA,

I realize this is an old post but the information is relevant.

The Charlotte area HD dealers are indeed the only sources that I am aware of for rentals.

Still, Harley makes it pretty easy to rent bikes and HDs are fun too!

I'm sorry but I have to disagree. I rented a HD once, and thought that it was the biggest waste of money ever. Pure junk. Maybe there's nice HD's out there (unlikely), but the rentals are obviously not cared for properly.
I wanted to rent a "nice" bike once too, but couldn't find any except a HD.
If you want to throw away about $200 to ride a big chrome vibrator that feels like it's going to explode at any time go for it.
Maybe it was the shop I rented from, but the bike I rented was a piece of sh!t, hardly worth the premium they charged. Bad brakes, engine died regularly, 1 turn signal didn't work, dirty, etc..........
Again, maybe this was just my experience, BUT it seems to me that all the HD rental shops are like franchises, and that leads me to believe that they are all crap.

I had a very positive experience not only with the bike itself but with the quality of service. There was a Buell Ulyses by the counter that I inquired about and the counter girl said 'It's going into the rental fleet but doesn't have all the paperwork yet." I expressed my dis-appointment while the Rental Manager was walking by and he said he could take care of it "...they're here to rent, let's rent it...use the temp paperwork". I was on the road in less than 30 minutes. The $1000 deposit seemed a little steep but is probably not without good reason.

Every place I stopped people asked me about it. I can't imagine taking it over my R, however, it really was a good ride for the day.

Daryl - what kind of variety did that dealer have in its pool of rental vehicles?

Harley-Davidson is an exceptionally business-savvy company. So they know how to reach potential customers. BMW should make it easier for me to spend my money. Instead, visiting a dealer is usually a chore because of geography.

They seemed to have some of everything.
I was surprised to see the Buell but in addition to that there were standard Sportsters, V-Rods, Wide-Glides & Electra Glides.
Seemed like everything Sportster was $90 + tax / insurance, everything else was $155 +.

BMW Motorad LV was $190+ for a either a GS or R1200LT. Didn't seem to have much availability when I called.

HD definately knows how to market, but I can't get by the 'mystique' / 'lifestyle' blah blah blah blah.

Went for a ride around Cayuga Lake today, saw one Boxer & four Asian bikes. Part of the reason I like riding in colder / damper weather is that the roads aren't full of 'lifestyle' types.
