Feels like it's about to cut out
About a year ago I removed the cable ties after reaching the point that when I turned left the bike cut out. I dianosed a broken wire that was linked to the fuel pump. This has been repaired and fuel pump and bike running fine. Occasionally though and this happens on deceleration I feel a blip, a ju...

Re: 2004 R1150 run problem - newbie
I had this problem a few months ago. The fuel pump was intermittent. Sometimes it worked then it would stop. It reached the stage that whenever I tried to turn left the bike would cut out, not good. All of the advice about cable ties are spot on. Get yourself an auto electrician like I did and you w...

Thanks for your help, great forum
Problems not starting, cutting out, not driving while turning left!! Cable ties and all the information helped me fix the problem. I cut into the protective sleeving and pulled the wire from the wiring diagram and hey, it just came away in my hand, broken. Repaired it and the bike is purring. Thanks...

Cable ties
I have had problems starting, fuel pump not running so today I thought I would check fuses and relays. All ok. So I tried to start the bike, no fuel pump whine and no start. I turned the bars to the right and suddenly the pump whines and the bike, a 2004 model starts first time. I try to ride and it...

Won't start
Problem at the weekend was intermitent, now the bike won't start at all. I am not hearing the fuel pump when I switch on the ignition. The engine turns over but won't start. Side stand up. In neutral. Kill switch in go position. Plenty of petrol. When I rang the dealership they spoke of the hall sen...

Re: Starts intermittently won't run
OK good thinking. 04' 26k BMW history. I have had it for 3 months but because of poor weather and not much time have not ridden it. I also found it difficult to be comfortable because of the seat height. Anyway that is sorted now. The battery has been on an optimiser, not all of the time. So, your i...

Starts intermittently won't run
The sun is out, a perfect day for a ride but this morning, having not ridden the bike for a month or so it took a long time to start. Sometimes after a whirring electric noise, (fuel pump?) it would start, run for 20 yds or so and then stop. Mostly, after hearing the noise of the fuel pump it starte...

footrest lowering
I have taken delivery and fitted the tall seat and the difference is very noticable from the low seat that was fitted from new. I have decided to lower the pegs and would like to do so without compromising the brake pedal. I notice that in some cases the brake pedal ends up adove the peg. Those who ...

Riding position
I posted a few weeks ago about replacement seats, lowering pegs and recieved some good advice. If I am to ride this summer which at the moment I am unable to do, it's just too painful, I need the following. To highten my position so it's the high/comfort seat at this stage. To lower the pegs and to ...

High seat or lower the pegs?
I am struggling to find a comfortable riding position on my new bike. I am not that flexible and my knees are getting very sore after a short time riding. My inside leg is 32.5 inches so on the standard low seat I can easily place the whole of my foot on the floor so I am considering a high seat or/...

Rockster saddle on R1150R
Will this saddle fit my bike? It's a bit higher 35mm and that would suit me.

What identifies abs?
How do you know if the bike has abs and if it doesn't then what does it have?
Is there a distinct advantage with the abs system?

First post Battery question
I am the new owner of R1150R. The bike has not been ridden for about 3 weeks and I won't be able to ride for another 4 weeks at least. I would like to trickle charge the battery using an optimiser. Do I need to remove the tank to do so? I have read that it is possible to charge through an accessory ...
