flip face helmets???
I'm thinking of getting a flip face helmet, primarily so i don't have to take it off while trying to eat quick on the bike, or gas stops requiring a quick run in.

my 1200gs experience thus far.
well, after a week and a half, 2,000 miles on the odometer, over 600 miles in one day, twisties, highway, some light gravel roads, rain, shine, i'm still smiling. i had a little sellers remorse yesterday as i rode 250 miles to deliver the R to its new owner. The R is a great bike, does it all very w...

thanks.
i got a blue one but there was a yellow and red available as well. Mine will have the spoke wheels, heated grips, and alarm(not my choice). The Sargent seat is great for every situation, on the long haul it is terrific. i went from the standard seat on the R to the Sargent. I can only hope that when...

out with the old, in with the new.
done deal, sold the R and purchased a 1200gs. i'm picking up the gs on wednesday and am really looking forward to it. The R has been such a wonderful bike, i'm hoping that the new GS will be more of a good thing for me. My R had 24,000 miles on it and was the best bike that i've ever owned. i typica...

thanks for the help fellas.
didn't know that the GS could be had without ABS, that is a plus for me. i'm certainly going to look into this further and will be testriding one soon. bones - sent you a pm with a few further questions. thanks for the help. on the bmw website, they list handguards as a standard feature, rather than...

Non ABS
Tell me more Bones.... what do you mean when you say you got the non servo, non abs version??? i didn't realize that this bike could be had without ABS? from my limited research, it is only available with it, but the ABS can be turned off. Is this bike available as a non-ABS version similar to my ro...

thinking about a GS?
wondering if anybody has made the switch from R to GS and what the differences are. my '03 R as 23k on the odo and has treated me well. my use is primarily commuting, a few trips for work, and hopefully a few trips for fun. things that i appreciate about the R, ease of maintenance, ride comfort, han...

very nice.
very impressive bike with features that a reasonable person could appreciate. hopefully it will come with a reasonable price tag as well, which will certainly affect the SV market share, and quite likely the bmw parallel twin sales figures. i like the look, and the under engine exhaust has been some...

more information
i called and talked to the company regarding price/availability. seemed still a little ways out, and there wern't sure who would act as their dealer network, or emissions or exact price. they anticipate a MSRP of 12,000. since they have never marketed a civilian version, which means that they haven'...

thanks
that is where i ended up routing mine as well. drilled a hole on each side of the fender guard, just behind the hyperlites, pulled the wires through those holes. There was already a hole on the underside leading up into the tool compartment so i pulled the wires into there and made my connections. I...

damn jug handles
i ride in NJ a fair amount, commute there from MD for work purposes. It is disturbing the way the turn lanes and jug handles work. no excuse whatsoever for folks to turn right from a left lane, but is different from most traffic patterns in this regard. you can't turn left from the left lane in a lo...
