Re: Source for Cat Code Plugs?
How is the bike running on the pink CCP? First, I should mention my R1100R has an aftermarket, non-cat exhaust and a Techlusion controller. It runs well ... most of the time. There are occasional driveablility issues, e.g., erratic throttle response, backfiring, and worst of all, a sudden near-stal...

Source for Cat Code Plugs?
Hi Folks!
I've noticed that my 2000 R1100R, which I bought used, has the pink cat code plug.
First, is the stock plug for the 2000 a yellow plug?
If so...
Second, where can I get a yellow plug?
Thanks!
Dave

Electrical Upgrade
Just a minor FYI... Two weekends ago, I made a series of electrical upgrades to my 2000 R1100R: - Odyssey battery - Eastern Beaver headlight relay harness - Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulb I know, I know, when you change more than one variable at a time, it's hard to tell what's affecting what, but s...

Fork Paint?
Hi Folks!
The reflectors mounted on the forks of my 2000 R1100R fell off. (Well, the dog knocked one loose, and I finished the job
)
But some spots of paint on the fork departed with the reflector adhesive. Is touch up paint available for the forks?
FWIW... The color code is 763.
Thanks!
Dave

Re: Remove Center Stand?
Hi Oliver! Sorry for the slow response! I was unexpectedly hospitalized, but all is well now, especially since I'm back on the bike :) The Becker lift looks perfect. Anyone know of a U.S. source? Thanks! Dave That is no problem providing you put some wooden plate underneath the oilpan. But you don't...

Remove Center Stand?
Hi Folks!
I'm thinking about removing the center stand from my R1100R, but first, a question...
Is it safe to lift the bike with a (proper) jack under the oilpan?
Thanks!

Re: Leo Vince Exhaust for R1100R
Ahh come on Dave. Don't worry about the mileage. There is no better way of burning fuel than with your olihead ... And who cares if the fuel consumption is slightly higher  I just burn the stuff and don't care if it's a little more ... And at $2.50 a gallon (about half a Euro per liter) he...

Re: Leo Vince Exhaust for R1100R
it is common believe that the bike gets faster when louder  We know this since our pubescet youth don't we? But fact is that very few aftermarket aftermarket actually output more power or torque. Whenever people with aftermarket exhaust got their bike tested on a dyno (preferably before and af...

Now for a real surprise... The new exhaust is good for an extra 10 mph on top on my favorite test road
Go figure.

Re: Leo Vince Exhaust for R1100R
Wow - looks so empty under there where the cat used to be. Must be quite a bit lighter, too? It's an odd thing. The Leo Vince system is certainly lighter than stock, but only by five, six, maybe seven pounds. But I swear I can feel a difference. Also, several other changes are contributing to the &...

Leo Vince Exhaust for R1100R
Hi Folks! Just for reference... I recently received and installed a Leo Vince exhaust system from Viets Performance (jeff@vietsperformance.com) for my 2000 R1100R: - The Leo Vince number is 6457. Most reference materials list this as an system for the 2000 R850R, but Leo Vince in Italy confirmed tha...

Re: Rear Shock Preload
Some interesting results... Going into the preload adjustment, my goal was to increase the preload in order to get better response in the rear to sharp bumps (potholes, dropped manhole covers, et al). However, I understood that such an adjustment would probably decrease the ride quality. So I adjust...
