Thanks for the input. It seems it was not quite in neutral, if that's possible. I went back through all the steps--kill switch off and and on, side stand up and down, put it in gear and rocked it back into neutral--started. I think it was just to get attention...

2000 R1100R, ridden regulary. Recently when I took the battery off the trickle charger, everything electrical seems to work, except will make no effort to turn over. I have a two brothers racing with the cat-eliminator. It sounds good--not too loud, and saves about 15 lbs. Easy DIY install.

Does your bike have ABS? If not, it could be some of the wiring for ABS that is, of course, not connected to anything.

I once "volunteered" to take a friend's M'cycle for a ride every few days while he was in Iraq, just to keep it warmed up. Of course, I washed and waxed it, etc. I would be happy to do the same for you, being the altruistic person that I am...
