Questions on the Verholen bar risers
Has anybody used the verholen bar risers for the R1200R? Is there any problems with the cables not being long enough? It looks like the clutch cable could be a little short. Can the handlebar be turned ALL the way to the left and right without the cables binding?
Hi Mike
I have mounted these risers.
In my case it is the brake line which limits the position of the handlebar.
(I can tilt it towards the rider only so much.)
But I checked all cables and lines and found that it looks like none are unduly bent.
Verholen also confirmed upon request that no line has to be replaced.
Given a "sensible" positioning / tilting of the handlebar it can be turned all the way left and right.
The risers look good, fit well and make riding much more pleasant for my back.....
Cheers

Re: Cables
A word of caution: check with your dealer first.danstl wrote:I have the risers, but felt the brake line was pulled much too tight. I am putting on a sliightly longer one on Thursday.
BMW categorically rejected longer brake lines when I put bar-backs on my R1150RS. That may have been because of legal issues with THAT ABS system .. the dreaded EVO II power brakes .. but I'd still check. I had to make do with limited improvement in bar position to limit stree on the lines - despite having new braided steel lines in the bar-back kit.
My dealer is fitting the Verholen bar risers - from his perspective, for goodwill (the salesguy is simply great); from my prespective, so the accessories don't give me ANY warranty grief.
BTW, the bar-risers look great - MV Verholen is very expensive, but you do get great quality and design resolution. The Moto-Technique ones I also got (after giving up hope on) are well finished but not as resolved a design.
