Has anybody priced a complete set(male & female-2 pairs) from Chicago BMW? I don't need a multi meter, you'll understand when you get old and have too many tools!

After worrying for a couple months, I checked my disconnects.Previous owner was meticulous with care ,and I thought
"What if he already changed them to metal disconnects? "

Sure enough . .but only the male halves were changed ,leaving the female halves with the push in detents original.
Would this be because the male half always breaks ? Am I OK with this arrangement?

This forum is by far the most supported of bike brand web forums! Excellent sources and competent individuals - especially for my twelve year old 1150R. Thanks to all !

Only males brake. I think metal male ends are actually BMW replacement parts starting at some point in time.

Thank you,vwdoctor.
I appreciate your reply :-)

I knew I will eventually take the tank off so the disconnects were my first concern based on my reading here.

Today is the first day of Fall, and here in Illinois it's the primo riding season !

yep the male end breaks. youll be totally fine.

mine, unknowingly had BEEN broken. i could tell visually before I removed it. but the little spring loaded tube inside remained in good contact, so I was "lucky" when I fixed it, i just used a fitting for mine- for I was leaving in short order. Don't regret it, one bit.

Thanks,/b] Peels.
I can put that issue to rest.
Man, I love this bike! I just retired (sold) my dirt bike last October and patiently searched for a road bike ,having a bit of traveling in mind. At 62 years of age ,picking up a 250 four stroke in the woods after dropping it three times was a chore , and I thought why wait to quit when I smack a tree someday?

I've had the 1150R since June, and it is a perfect choice .A great ride, well made, great ergos ,and after riding enduro bikes for 40 years I love the telelever .

love mine too!

iv'e found that low mileage 1150's generally have just as much, if not more problems than HIGH mileage 1150's. I think sitting is bad for them.
