Never had this before, what do ya'all think
Question:
When I let the yellow light go on the other day, I rode it for about 25 more miles and filled up. When I arrived at the filling station, I went to open the gas cap and literally it was hard to open, usually it just pops up. There was so much pressure built in the tank when I did get it open the suction actually drew the tank inside itself. It has never done this before that night and was wondering if my fuel pump is actually working harder?
By the way, it does this every time now! In the last two weeks I have put 1300 miles on her for my new job, 100 plus miles a day. So should I be concerned?
There away to make the problem go away?
Anyone else had this?
She runs like normal other than that!
12000 mile service is coming around the corner soon.
Thanks for any insight!

My bike had this issue when I bought it (used) and I lived with it for a year before I found out (from this board!) that it wasn't normal, and it didn't appear to harm anything, but I've heard of tanks getting dimpled by the vacuum and think that the fuel pump must be working harder, so I was glad to find the mud dauber nest that plugged the canister vent hose hanging behind the right foot peg. Aftter cleaning out the tube with a pipe cleaner, the tank now only develops a very slight vacuum, nothing like before, and again, I assume this is normal.

Most people don't do what's right, they do what's most convenient and then repent

If getting to the dealer is a hassle, check the easy things first. A crimped hose, is a common problem, with an easy fix. I stumbled across this in the "rockster" section. Good ideas here.

I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...

Jacksonville -just a few miles west of you. We go to Twin City for everything dealer. Think about coming this way to ride over by the rivers sometime. Send me a pm if you want to explore some roads not quite so corny. Likewise let us know if you have some over there too.CARTEEUSMC wrote: hey geo
