Good Bye For Now
After 3 years and 52,000 enjoyable miles I've sold my R1150R and the new owner will ride it away tomorrow. I have been a frequent visitor and occasional poster on this board and have gained much from my association with a great bunch of people. What have I changed it for you ask :?: Well it may surp...

I work for a BMW breaker and parts supplier. We see many Oilheads with well over 100,000 miles on them. Clutches seem to last between 25,000 and 90,000 miles which I guess is largly down to the rider. We saw an R1150GS the other day on 170,000 miles with its original brake discs!  It ...

Re: Helmet Cleaning
I think most helmets are actually water immersable. I've not tried it but if the helmet became too stinky to wear, I'd soak it in mild detergent and then rinse it thoroughly. Can someone else confirm this method as being okay or do I have it wrong? Quite right! Use baby shampoo; soak inside of helm...

Re: Rain
[Which pennine roads do you use? I used to commute over from Holmfirth to the centre of Manchester on the A635, Isle of Skye road every day. Nice run to start and finish the day if the weather was decent. I travel from Heywood to Meltham every day using either the A640 or the the A62 over Stanedge....

Re: Rain
Have to agree fog is the worst...especially when you know there are going to be sheep loose on the roads over the hills..the little bu**ers blend in so well! On my daily trip over the Pennines I've noticed the sheep seem to be grazing on the tarmac and are very reluctant to get out of the way :shoc...

Actually, I had the same question about the steering damper, or lack thereof. I traded up to the 1150R from a 2000 R1100R, which did have a steering damper. Same telelever suspension design (though the arm is a bit different). So what's different that a steering damper was needed before but not now...

I have a Remus collector (no Cat), Revolution end can, BB Chip (http://www.bbpower.de) and RS air intake tubes and although I have not put the bike on a dyno, can confidently say its smoother, quicker and has more torque than before. In a word it ROCKS :P :P However, it does seem to use a more gas t...

Re: I've only pushed it about 1,545,622,801 times
Has anyone else had this problem..anyone have a solution or ideas. The Kissan Signal Minder does not need the cancel button. You cancel your indicators with a second push of the appropriate paddle. You also have self cancelling after a pre determined number of flashes and can use the indicators as ...
