Re: Cold Weather Riding Safety

I rode to work today, 28 degrees when I left home this am. There were a couple of icy patches on the back roads, but I know where to expect them around here so no problems

Re: Best Cold Gear

Well, the big brown truck came this week and delivered my Tourmaster Synergy vest and Gerbings heated insoles. Rather than go thru removing the tank to install the harness, i decided to just get the coax to BMW powerlet adapter. Unfortunately, every place I called had them on backorder. i finally fo...

Re: Best Cold Gear

Re: R1150R accessories

hi, i installed the martin fabrication lights on my r a couple months ago. i emailed the company prior to purchasing and asked a few questions, they were very prompt in replying. installation was a breeze, gave me an excuse to pull my tank off for the first time. i have been pleased with the overall...

Re: dead battery

you didn't say what kind of connector your heated vest has. if it is an sae connector you should be able to connect your batt tender to the sae connector. first time tank removal to get to the battery is a little intimidating, but it is really pretty simple, just pay attention to how everything is c...

Re: xmas day ride

todd, the shield is an MRA Vario. i bought it from twistedthrottle.com after trying a bmw sport, bmw touring, and then calling to order a parabellum and they told me they were a month behind, so i ordered this one. it works really well, around town it is great and after several tweakings it really d...

Re: Final Drive Oil ?

from advrider... "the 75W90 will lubricate better with less fluid drag, the slightly lighter fluid is better for the bearings... Heavier fluids with higher temp. ratings (140) work well for extreme temperature's (hotter than your final drive gets) and higher shock loads, otherwise the lighter f...

Re: Stock rear tire diameter, and what's a good next oversize?

well, i have a question going in the opposite direction. i want to mount 120/70/17 front and a 160/60 17 rear distanzia's. what effect, if any, will the 160 rear tire have on anything, and will it be safe to run on the 5 inch rim?
thanks
