Re: R1200R: un-popular or simply sold out?

When i decided on the 12R, late last year,i went to the local BMW dealer, only one here in RI. No 12Rs on the floor, they told me the new ones would arrive in april. It's october and they still are not here. :-k Anyway, i couldn't wait and went to Hartford and got mine in february and that was the c...

Rear rack question.

I've just finished mounting the new cases carriers and rear rack combo, that i've got tonight, on the bike. Pretty easy and straight forward, but when i putted the cases back on it, they seemed to have some play that wasn't there before with the previous only cases mount. Nothing crazy but i was wan...

Re: Anyone had a high-speed wobble at 80+ mph?

Now that I see the area, hitting that dark spot at 80+ mph cannot be a good thing.... As for Paul's experience - do you have ABS? I get that same squirrely rear when hammering the (front) brake at end of my local track's back straight, this on a short-wheelbase bike... just an indication that there...

Re: Anyone had a high-speed wobble at 80+ mph?

Don't know, this is what happened to me about a month ago. Commuting home on I 95 southbound , two lanes and i'm on the fast lane, 65 to 75 mph. My exit was approaching and i was switching lane moving to the right when all the cars around me started to act crazy, breaking and swerving. At this point...

Re: R12R Givi Top Box

I was down at Twisted throttle saturday inquiring about a Givi box for the R. I have the side cases but not the rack. It seems that aftermarket companies use the same mounting places for their racks as the BMW cases so, if i have the cases, i can't use a trunk. Unless i get the BMW cases and rack se...

Re: Got LOW Comfort seat..

Paul, make sure all the rubber bumpers are in place. There are 4 toward the front, two shorter ones closest to the front, two longer ones a bit more toward the middle. If any of these are missing it will flex and might cause noise. When I got mine - one was missing, luckily I had a spare left over ...

Re: Got LOW Comfort seat..

I've just got it too, i don't mean to hijack the tread but i have a question if you don't mind. The low comfort seat is more comfy than stock seat, haven't tried for a long ride yet but i've been commuting on it for the past ten days and it's an improvement. I have a problem with it thou. It's noisy...

I wouldn't know.
I went once to the Mohegan Sun Arena to see Eric Clapton and a couple of times at Foxwoods for other shows.

Although i think four hours will fly by on the 12r, you'll be wishing Boston was farther.

Re: BMW Comfort Saddle or Corbin Follow-up

Does raising the handlebar and pulling it back an inch or so helps the butt at all with the new posture? I started sitting as far back as I could in the seat because the boys were complaining. Then they were happy, but my back started hurting. The touratech riser took care of my posture problems in...

I tightened the screws without breaking them

The riding positions is much better, my right hand and arm are no longer sore after a ride.

I placed an order and i'll have them probably mid next week and i was wondering if there is a torque specification for the screws.
What did you guys do?
Just tighten and maybe some Loctite?
