Re: Ztechnik shield update & pics

I have just made a deal to trade my R1200R in on an R1200GS. I have a Ztechnik w/s that I would like to sell. I had the w/s cut down by 3" in order to eliminate the helmet buffeting. In addition I modified the mounting bracket to be able to use it with Verholen barbacks. If anyone is intereeste...

Re: Ztechnik shield update & pics

The part number for the GS brakeline is 34327666805
The part number for the washers (seal rings) is : 07119963072 - 4 needed

I paid $86.48 for the line and .32 each for the seals plus 9.00 s&h from BMW of Daytona

Re: Ztechnik shield update & pics

I took my first extended ride with the Ztechnik w/s today, about 400 miles. This is one noisy sucker. I'm going to have to shorten it by 2 or 3 inches in order to get my head out of the maelstrom. Do any of you fella have any experience trimming polycarbonate?

Re: Daytona

I'm goping down Friday. I hope to wangle a way into the BMW hospitality room Friday afternoon then I'll be at the track from around 9 am until after the 200. I'm on a black pinstripe RR with Georgia tags and an Iron Butt Association plateholder. Oh yeah, and a Ztechnik w.s

Re: Ztechnik shield update & pics

I too have the Verholen bar backs. Before I mounted my Ztechnik w/s the stock brake line was ok (barely). When I added the windshield I had to swap out the brake line with one from an R1200GS. One other problem I encountered was that the mounting bracket for the Ztechnik did not fit around the Verho...

Re: Gas tank removal

Tag your advice was spot on and extremely helpful. Thanks. The DVD from Marc Parnes shows tank removal etc on an R11200GS. The parts and procedures are totally different from those on the RR. I'm going to bite the bullet & get the RR DVD from BMW

Re: Gas tank removal

Scooter: The site gives instructions for removing the R1150R tank, The R1200R tank is quite a bit different and most of what is shown here doesn't apply.

Gas tank removal

Have any of you fellas taken your gas tank off yet? I need to remove mine to change out the handlebar brake line to a longer one in order to accomodate a set of bar backs. Once I change the line I will need to bleed the brakes at the ABS module. So far I have removed all the tupperware and uncoupled...

Re: MRA/Wunderlich VarioScreen

Don - I bought one, used it about a week and sold it. I didn't like the upright position of the screen. Also, I felt that there was just too much helmet buffeting regardless of the position of the screen. I recently bought and installed a Ztechnik screen like in the pictures Joe (Chi town) has poste...

Joe I really like that picture of the open road taken over your windshield. Where was it taken? I recently installed a Ztechnik shield on my RR and I love the look of it.

I guess I was spoiled by the Tourance's on my old GS. I routinely got 11,000 + on the rear and they cost $225 delivered to my door. I have 9,000 on the original Conti's on my R12 but they have a little life left in them yet. What has been you guys experience with Pilot Roads ?

I'm selling for a variety of reasons. I have not been able to find a windshield to my likeing. They are all too upright. I found a good deal on a low mileage 1150R with all the farkles. I came to the R12 from an 1150GS. I really like the GS ride better but it was too tall for me. Hopefully the 1150R...

About to sell my 2007 R1200R

Hi fellas, I'm about to sell my 2007 R1200R. It has the usual options: trip computer, heated grips etc. It is black with white pinstripes in perfect condition with BMW bags, A Rocky Mayer seat and 8,800 miles. What do you all think would be a fair asking price?
