Re: Mounting auxillary power to R1150R

There's a nice place to mount this; on the flat surface of the inner plastic of the oil-cooler. Will try to dig up a pic that I have of my mod.

Another place is the undertray where the tools are kept of you are not planning to put tools there.

yes, the R1100R sits lower, and has 3 seat height settings.

Nothing some paint and a good painter can't solve :) Paint only the covers, that is good enough!

Re: Purchase Advice

Welcome to our part on the Web. :) Can't say much about splines (although plenty had been said!). I removed the ABS when it started giving me some grief. The bikes are getting to the stage when its value may not justify a replacement of the costly ABS. However, with the removal of the ABS, the servo...

I've always been curious about the under-the-cowl storage compartment that wunderlich boasts. Mind showing a close up of that?

Bike salvage yard in Chicago area?

Hiya,

I have just acquired an airhead and is looking to make something of it .... :) Figure that it will complement my R :)

Does anyone know of any breaker or salvage yard in the Chicago area or elsewhere online? eBay is great but seems to less stuff for the airheads.

Relatively easy job. Just get another sight glass and remove the old one. You need to break the old sight glass.
